Prof. Dr. Kathrin Dedering, born in 1974, made her diploma in educational science at the University of Bielefeld. She was research associate at the Faculty of Educational Science, Working Group 4 "Didactics and Curriculum Development", at the University of Bielefeld, after her doctorate at the Institute for School Development Research at the Technical University of Dortmund, in the Working Unit "Governance and Financing of the Educational System" at the German Institute for International Educational Research and at the Faculty of Educational Science, Working Group 4 "School Development and School Research", at the University of Bielefeld. From 2011 to 2014 she was University Professor for School Education, denomination: Empirical School Research, at the Institute for Social Work, Educational and Sports Science at the University of Vechta. In 2014 she has become University Professor for Educational Institutions and School Development at the University of Erfurt. She habilitated in 2012 about governance and school development. Her current main fields of research are the functions of external advisors for school development and the interrelationship of school inspection and quality development at school.
